COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University volleyball team took the short trip south to Columbus on Friday night to take on Capital. It took five sets, but in the end, the Bishops got the job done, taking the match 3-2.
Ohio Wesleyan moves to 5-6 with a chance to get to .500 against Otterbein tomorrow. Capital falls to 1-8.
It was truly a teeter-totter sort of match, with four of the five sets decided by three points or less. OWU took the first by a score of 25-23 before the pendulum swung the other way in set two with a 25-22 Capital win.
The Red and Black got the advantage back in the third set with the largest margin of victory of the game in a 25-18 set win thanks to starting out on a 5-0 run. However, once again the momentum shifted and Capital took a tight set four 26-24 in extra points.
So it all came down to set five. In the end, Ohio Wesleyan would rally to take five of the last six points for the 16-14 set win, and the 3-2 match victory.
