Bishops Tie with Transylvania

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's soccer team hit the road on Tuesday night as they played visitor to Transylvania. Despite an early goal for the Battling Bishops, the game would end in a stalemate.

OWU remains at .500, 3-3-4. Transylvania is still in search of their first win, 0-6-2.

The Red and Black got on the board early, scoring in just the fourth minute. Ava Bruns was the one to find the back of the net after taking a ball to the baseline before cutting back to beat the defender and send it over the keeper into the far side netting. Ohio Wesleyan would hold that one-goal lead for 38 minutes before Transylvania tied the game back up in the 42nd minute. Despite the best efforts of both teams – The Bishops had seven second half chances and Transylvania had eight – neither side was able to score, and the game ended at 1-1.

THE NUMBERS
The two sides were fairly even on the attack, with Ohio Wesleyan having 13 attempts and Transylvania having 14. However, OWU was more effective on offense, putting 10 shots on goal compared to Transy's three.
