DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's soccer team opened up their home schedule on Wednesday night, hosting Otterbein. Thanks to second half goals from both sides, the score was even at the end of the night, 1-1.
The Bishops are still in search of their first win of the fresh season, moving to 0-2-1. Otterbein is now 1-0-1.
The Battling Bishops had several chances to open up the scoring in the early minutes, including a few beautifully played corner kicks that were unfortunately batted away. OWU outshot Otterbein 6-2 in the first half but neither team was able to find the net.
The Cardinals would finally break the scoreless tie in the 60th minute with a goal from Jacob Irani, coming off a rebound of a shot from Nick Isaac that bounded off the post and to Irani's feet. However, it did not take long for the Bishops to respond, scoring on a breakaway from

Despite a few late chances in the waning seconds of the second half, OWU would be unable to pull ahead, the final score remaining 1-1.
