DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's track & field team hosted Allegheny and Oberlin for a tri-meet at the OWU Team Challenge inside Gordon Field House on Saturday. The Battling Bishops finished first in the team standings with 137 points.
TRACK EVENTS
In the mile run,
Jacob Blubaugh crossed the line first with a time of 4:29.92, securing seven points for the Bishops.
Lucas Weaver took fourth place, tallying three points with a time of 4:37.69.
The 4x200 meter relay was next, and the Bishop squad of
Joe Larkins,
Ryan Tripp,
Connor Smith and
Nate Snead took the top spot with a time of 1:33.00, earning seven points.
In the 3000 meter run,
Haden Kirkham finished in seventh place with a time of 10:04.37, recording four points.
Dylan Harper secured seven points for the Bishops as he took the top spot in the 60 meter hurdles, posting a time of 8.33.
Michael Hess came in third with an 8.78, earning four points for the Red and Black.
In the 400 meter dash, Tripp took the top spot with a time of 51.43, earning seven points. Siisi Siesie nabbed fourth with a 54.18, bringing home three points.
Next was the 60 meter dash, where
Joel Adade earned seven points with a top finish and time of 7.06.
Nate Snead followed close behind, grabbing second place with a 7.17.
Perry Jackson finished second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:06.49, earning five points.
Jayson Dyer took third, crossing the line with a time of 2:07.55 and recording four points.
In the 200 meter dash, Snead and Larkins took first and second with times of 23.45 and 23.57, respectively. Snead claimed seven points, while Snead earned five.
A team consisting of
Logan Lang,
Michael Strange, Larkins, and Siesie took first place in the 4x400 meter relay, finishing with a time of 3:34.73. The squad earned seven points for the Bishops.
FIELD EVENTS
Ohio Wesleyan got started with seven points in the weight throw.
Austin Roberts threw 14.60 meters, good for second place and five points.
Ayden Clary threw 13.18, securing fifth place and two points.
Ryan Tripp took first place in the long jump with a mark of 6.64 meters, earning seven points.
Tanner Sir Louis jumped 6.60 meters, earning second place and five points.
In the high jump,
Connor Smith and
Michael Hess competed and earned 12 points combined. Smith jumped 2.06 meters, good for first and seven points. Hess leaped 1.71 meters, nabbing second and five points.
Sir Louis took first place in the pole vault, jumping 4.25 meters and earning seven points.
Alex Bzdafka jumped 3.95 meters, good for second place and five points.
Finally, in the shot put, Clary finished in first place with a put of 13.72 meters.
Peter Ortiz grabbed second, recording 12.97 meters. The duo earned 12 points for the Red and Black–seven from Clary and five from Ortiz.
