DELAWARE and WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's track & field team competed at two events this weekend as they hosted the annual OWU Open on Friday, then traveled to Westerville for the All-Ohio Championship on Saturday.
AT ALL-OHIO CHAMPIONSHIP
The Battling Bishops placed fourth in the 16-team field, totalling 77 points.
In the distance medley relay, a quartet of
Perry Jackson,
Jake Marzulli,
Alex Stoller, and
Lucas Weaver finished fourth after clocking a time of 10:49.56. The group earned five points for the Red and Black.
Dylan Harper secured third in the 60 meter hurdles, finishing with a 8.47 and recording six points.
Nate Snead took the top spot in a tight 60 meter dash, clocking a time of 6.95 to earn 10 points.
In the 4x200 meter relay,
Joe Larkins, Snead,
Connor Smith, and
Ryan Tripp finished first with a time of 1:29.05, earning 10 points.
Stoller took eighth in the 400 meter dash with a 52.20, earning one point.
Three Bishops swept the podium in the 200 meter dash. Smith led the way with a time of 22.35, good for first and 10 points. Snead was close behind, finishing with a 22.36 to take second and earn eight points. Tripp rounded out the top three with a 22.40, tallying six more points for the Red and Black.
In the 4x400 meter relay, a group of Harper, Larkins,
Aidan McNeill and
Siisi Seisie finished seventh with a 3:29.43. The squad earned two points.
In the long jump, Tripp leapt 6.37 meters, good for eighth place and one point.
Ayden Clary took fourth in the shot put after a put of 14.80 meters, earning five points.
Smith earned 10 more points for the Bishops after taking first in the high jump with a jump of 2.02 meters.
OWU OPEN
Dylan Harper finished second in the 60 meter hurdles, after crossing the line with a time of 8.28.
In a tight 400 meter dash,
Logan Lang crossed the line in 53.23 to take third, followed closely by
Logan Bier, who clocked a 53.67 for fifth place.
Jayson Dyer notched second in the 800 meter dash, posting a mark of 2:04.64.
Lang's run of top finishes continued in the 200 meter dash, where he clocked a 23.76 to take fourth.
In the weight throw,
Austin Roberts secured second with a toss of 13.93 meters. Eric Schnieter took fourth with a throw of 12.35 meters, while
Andrew Bentz grabbed fifth after throwing 12.16 meters.
Logan Bier finished third in the high jump after jumping 1.65 meters.
Daren Styer and
Michael Strange took the top two spots in the pole vault. Styer took first after vaulting 3.77 meters, while Strange vaulted 3.62 meters, placing him second.
