DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's track & field team hosted the OWU Tune-Up on Friday. The Battling Bishops welcomed Marietta, Otterbein, and Wilberforce to town for the event.
TRACK EVENTS
Sophomore
Nate Snead rewrote the record books in the 60-meter dash, as the sophomore's first-place time of 6.88 eclipsed the previous Bishop indoor record.
Ryan Tripp placed third with a blazing time of 7.04, and
Angelo Ayers nabbed fifth after clocking a 7.05.
In the 60-meter hurdles,
Dylan Harper took the top spot after crossing the line by a time of 8.32.
A trio of Bishops claimed spots in the top five in the 400-meter dash.
Logan Patterson placed third after finishing with a time of 53.53.
Joe Larkins was next, clocking a time of 53.60.
Logan Lang rounded out the top five with a 53.63.
Jayson Dyer finished second in the 800-meter run, clocking a time of 2:03.17.
In the 200-meter dash, Snead claimed another first-place finish, this time with a time of 22.24.
Jacob Blubaugh placed second in the mile run, crossing the finish line with a time of 4:29.40.
Lucas Weaver nabbed fourth with a 4:37.62.
FIELD EVENTS
In the weight throw,
Ayden Clary and
Austin Roberts took the top spots. Clary threw 15.61 meters, good for first place. Roberts placed second with a toss of 15.13 meters.
Aiden McNeill took third in the long jump after jumping 5.97 meters.
Clary also took first in the shot put after a throw of 15.16 meters–over one meter further than second place.
Peter Ortiz came in third after throwing 14.12 meters.
Eric Schneiter nabbed fourth place with a throw of 12.40 meters.
Andrew Bentz rounded out the top five with a 12.14 meter throw.

The Battling Bishops are back in action tomorrow, as they travel to Wooster for the NCAC Combined-Event Championship.
