BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships got underway on Friday, featuring three student-athletes from Ohio Wesleyan University. On Sunday, the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Committee announced the top 20 student-athletes in each event that earned selections to the indoor national championships. Dylan Harper and
Connor Smith as well as sophomore
Katherine Dortmund.
Harper qualified in the 60-meter hurdles, competing in the prelims on Friday with a seed time of 8.10 – his first trip to the indoor national championships. He would finish 19th overall with a time of 8.47.
Dortmund also secured a spot to compete in the 60-meter hurdles on Friday – her second career trip to the indoor national championships. Seeded with the second-best time of 8.62 in heat two, she moved up to take the top spot in the heat with an OWU-record 8.55. With the win, Dortmund moved on with an automatic qualifier to the event finals on Saturday. She placed fourth overall in prelims and will compete for the national championship at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Smith secured a spot in the high jump – his second trip to the indoor national championships following a 13th-place tie in the high jump last season. He will compete in Saturday's finals at 4:45 p.m., seeded at 2.06 meters.
