SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's tennis team earned their first win in conference play on Saturday, taking all nine matches and defeating Wittenberg on the road 7-0.
OWU improves to 6-5 on the season and 1-1 in the NCAC.
The Bishops started out with three wins in doubles to take a 1-0 lead. The pair of
Ian Tsai and
Marcus Bode as well as the pair of
Kobe Francis and
Gabe Fogle won matches one and two by scores of 6-2. The pair of
Zach Heister and
Rainer Holl got a free pass in match three.
Ohio Wesleyan sealed the deal in singles, winning all six matches for a 7-0 sweep victory. Heister shutout his opponent in match four 6-0, 6-0. Tsai secured a 6-1, 6-0 win in match one. Francis finished his win 6-0, 6-4. Bode dropped his opponent 6-4, 6-2. Fogle and Holl got free passes in matches five and six.
