DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's tennis team hosted Columbus-area rival Capital in the first of a three-match series of OAC opponents on Monday afternoon. The Battling Bishops took 2-of-3 in doubles and 5-of-6 in singles for a 6-1 victory.
The Bishops improve to 8-3 on the season while the Comets tumble to 5-9.
The pair of
Frankie Nuss and
Emma Pzedpelski along with the pair of Marissa Zelski and
Daniela Guzman opened the day with 6-2 wins in doubles matches two and three, securing the point despite a 6-1 loss in match one by
Mallory Hannan and
Lily Hershey.
Nuss and Guzman dominated singles matches two and six with respective 6-0, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-0 wins. Pzeldpelski secured a 6-4, 6-1 win in match four. Garnett earned a 6-4, 6-3 winning result in match five. Hannan nabbed a tiebreaker victory with a 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-5) scoreline. The only blemish in singles was a 6-4, 6-1 loss for Hershey in match three.
