Box Score HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's tennis team continued their spring break trip in Hilton Head on Monday morning, matching up with Penn State Harrisburg. The Battling Bishops took one point in doubles and four points in singles to secure their first win of the spring season, 5-2.
OWU improves to 3-4 on the year, 1-3 in the spring and 0-1 in conference. Penn State Harrisburg drops to 1-2.
The Bishops started strong with two wins in the three doubles matches to take the first point of the day.
Jared Crawford and
Zach Heister led the way with a 6-3 win in match three.
Ian Tsai and
Rainer Holl recorded a 7-5 win in match two. The only loss came in match one with
Kobe Francis and
Marcus Bode bowing out at 6-4.
The Red and Black kept rolling with four wins in singles to secure the 5-2 victory. Francis was a force in match four with a 6-1, 6-0 win. Heister rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 win in match five. Crawford found a 6-4, 6-2 win in match six. Finally, Tsai secured a 6-4, 6-4 win in match one. Holl and Bode suffered the two losses in singles, 7-6, 6-4 and 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) respectively.
