DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's track & field team hosted their second home meet in two weeks on Friday and Saturday with the annual All-Ohio Championship at Selby Stadium and George Gauthier Track. The Battling Bishops took third in the 15-team field with 79 points – 20 behind second-place Otterbein and 72.5 behind first-place Baldwin Wallace.
TRACK EVENTS
Joel Adade claimed four points with a fifth place finish in the 100-meter dash, running a time of 10.91.
Connor Smith and
Ryan Tripp combined for 14 points with two podium spots in the 200-meter dash. Smith was second with a time of 21.85, earning eight points. Tripp pulled up 0.02 seconds behind at 21.87, taking third and six points.
Tripp and
Alex Stoller represented OWU in the 400-meter dash with nine points. Tripp took second at 48.83 for eight points. Stoller ran a 50.37 for eighth and one point.
Jacob Blubaugh landed in eighth in the 1500-meter run, earning one point with a time of 4:04.35.
Michael Hess and
Logan Patterson scored a total of five points in the 400-meter hurdles. Hess was fifth with a 56.55 for four points. Patterson finished eighth with a 59.01 for one point.
Ohio Wesleyan's 4x100-meter relay team of Adade, Smith, Tripp, and
Angelo Ayers ran a 42.01 for second place and eight points.
The Bishops finished fifth in the 4x400-meter relay with Stoller,
Aidan McNeill, Jacob Marzulli, and Adade running a 3:22.31.
FIELD EVENTS
Connor Smith secured first once again in the high jump, taking 10 points with a mark of 2.01 meters.
Alex Bzdafka claimed sixth in the pole vault, vaulting 4.25 meters.
Ryan Tripp turned in a mark of 6.77 meters for fourth place and five points in the long jump.
Peter Ortiz took one point in eighth place in the shot put with a mark of 14.14 meters.
Dominic Brown notched a win in the javelin with a toss of 48.27 meters, besting second place by nearly two meters.
