DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's tennis team continued conference play on Sunday against Wabash at home at the Luttinger Family Tennis Center. The Battling Bishops slipped up in a 5-2 losing result to the Little Giants.
Ohio Wesleyan tumbles to 6-11 on the season and 1-5 in the NCAC. Wabash moves to 12-10 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
The Bishops conceded the doubles point after suffering a sweep, falling behind 1-0.
Marcus Bode and
Gabe Fogle took match two to a tiebreak but fell 7-6 (7-1).
Kobe Francis and
Ian Tsai were unsuccessful in match one at 6-4.
Zach Heister and
Rainer Holl lost 6-2 in match three.
OWU only two wins of the day came in singles matches one and four. Tsai secured a 6-4, 6-1 win in match one while Bode dropped his opponent 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (10-8) in match four. Fogle (6-4, 7-6 (8-6), 1-0 (10-4)), Francis (6-1, 6-0), Holl (6-0, 6-0), and Heister (6-2, 6-2) were on the losing end of results in matches two, three, five, and six.
