LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 2026 Team Academic Award recipients on Thursday afternoon. The Ohio Wesleyan University volleyball team earned its seventh-straight recognition, posting a team grade point average of 3.49.

"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team
Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."

Since 1992, the AVCA has recognized collegiate and high school volleyball programs for continued success on and off the court with the Team Academic Award. This year, 1432 programs earned recognition by achieving a year-long team GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.00 scale.

The Battling Bishops had two College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees this season, along with seven players named to the NCAC Dr. Gordon Collins Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
