PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's golf team competed Sunday and Monday at the Jimmy Hanlin Collegiate Invitational hosted by Ohio Northern at Little Mountain Country Club. The Battling Bishops placed four individuals in the top 10 and ended one stroke behind the hosts who took the top spot with a score of 591.
Nate Tripp and
Callahan Lawler were the top two finishers for OWU. Tripp tied for second with a score of 145, shooting a 75 in round one and tying his career-low of 70 in round two. Lawler shot a 74 in both rounds to finish tied for seventh with a score of 148.
Ryan Ashby and
Jacob Spann ranked third and fourth on the team. Ashby scored a 78 in round one but rebounded for a career-low 71 in round two, finishing ninth with a 149. Spann tied for 10th with a 150. He started with a career-low 73 in round one, followed by a 77 in round two.
Max Ahlswede tied for 33rd, shooting rounds of 79 and 81 for a total of 160.
