DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's soccer team (1-4-1, 0-0-0 NCAC) hosted crosstown rival Capital (4-1-1, 0-0-0 OAC) on Wednesday night for their annual Morgan's Message Game. The Bishops controlled the possession and pressed forward for 16 attempts but came up empty. In the end, the Comets were more efficient with a goal in each half off of only six shots for the 2-0
Capital broke the scoreless tie in the 24th minute with their only shot of the half. From there, the Battling Bishops turned on the pressure with five attempts before the break.
Cade Wurstner and
Jordan Domoe came the closest, looking to sneak shots into the lower half that ended up in the hands of the CU keeper.
The second half came with a constant attack from the Red and Black. Despite nine attempts, Ohio Wesleyan would remain scoreless with all but three falling offline. The three that did make it through to the keeper were kept out of the net. Capital effectively ended the game in the 88th minute with their second of the night off of a free kick. When the final whistle blew, it was 2-0 to the Comets.
THE NUMBERS
OWU was active on offense with 16 shots, putting five on target. Capital was the more efficient team with two goals on six shots, four on target. Ohio Wesleyan was awarded five corners compared to one for CU. The Comets made five saves while the Bishops put up two.
Jordan Domoe made two accurate attempts.

Jack Jennings, and
Nate Henry were responsible for the three remaining shots on goal.
Zach Hertzberg (0-3) made the start and played the first half.
Andrew Davison finished the game, making two saves.
