GAMBIER, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's cross country team began the 2026 season at the Port Kenyon Opener on Friday night. The meet was a head-to-head matchup between the Battling Bishops and the Owls on the 4000-meter course. OWU would not have the low score of the night, finishing second with 30 points.
The five scorers for the Red and Black all finished in a string of fifth place through ninth place.
Hope Morris came first at 15:06.2, followed by
Elsa Hoam at 15:17.6, then
Lucy Johnson at 15:24.0,
Reghan Gist at 15:31.0, and
Scarlett Loevenguth at 15:37.
Abbie Boey and
Zora Starner were the next two across for the Bishops. Boey yielded a 15:55.3 while Starner recorded a 16:06.2.
