POWELL, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's cross country team kicked off Ohio Wesleyan Alumni & Family Weekend on Friday evening, hosting their annual OWU Invitational at Liberty Park. The Battling Bishops had an incredible night, winning the 12-team meet with three runners in the top five and all five scorers in the top 10.
Ohio Wesleyan won the meet with 23 points, followed in the top five by Baldwin Wallce (83), Ohio Northern (84), Otterbein (94), and Oberlin (101).
Zoe Ward,
Sophie Cotts, and
Ella Chomic all finished within the top five. Ward ran a 21:54.1 placing first and scoring one point. Cotts came in third with a career-best 22:25.9 to score three points. Chomic took fifth with a 22:45.6 to score five points.
Brianna Montgomery and
Hope Morris were the final two scorers for OWU. Montgomery ran a 22:52.5 for sixth place and scored six points. Morris came in eighth with a 22:59.7 to score eight points.
Lucy Johnson and
Allison Dietz were the displacers for the Red and Black. Johnson ran a 23:23.5 for 21st place. Dietz strided a 23:24.1 for 22nd.
