ADA, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's soccer team (0-2-2, 0-0-0 NCAC) continued non-conference play at Ohio Northern (1-0-2, 0-0-0 OAC) on Tuesday night, settling for a 1-1 tie after 90 minutes.
The Battling Bishops got on the board first with a goal by
Jordyn Adams in just the second minute assisted by
Bailey Hawkins. OWU would hold the lead for 42 minutes before Ohio Northern knotted the game up just before the half. The Bishops put three shots on goal in the second half but were unable to pull back ahead. Junior goalkeeper
Payton Beard did her part to keep the Polar Bears out of the goal as well with saves against ONU's two second-half shots on target.
THE NUMBERS
Ohio Wesleyan had eight shots with five on target. Ohio Northern took 16 shots and put three on target. The Red and Black were awarded four corners opposed to ONU's two.
Jordyn Adams scored her second goal of the season to reclaim the team lead for the season. She now has four points.
Bailey Hawkins recorded her first assist of the season.
Ava DeBolt (0-2-2) made the start in goal and played the first 45 minutes.
Payton Beard played the second 45 minutes and made two saves.
