Ohio Wesleyan University sophomore Dominic Orsini (Massillon/Archbishop Hoban) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 22, it was announced by the NCAC.
Orsini, a quarterback on the Ohio Wesleyan football team, was named Football Offensive Player of the Week.
Orsini played a part in all 5 Ohio Wesleyan touchdowns in the Battling Bishops' 35-25 win over Kenyon on Saturday. He scored on runs of 21, 65, and 13 yards and threw touchdown passes of 5 and 55 yards. His 65-yard run put Ohio Wesleyan to stay midway through the third quarter, only 40 seconds after Kenyon had taken a 17-14 lead. Orsini scored on a 13-yard run on Ohio Wesleyan's following possession. He is the first Ohio Wesleyan player to score 3 rushing TDs since Oct. 31, 2009, when Mike Bashioum did so at Hiram.
