Ohio Wesleyan University senior Ben Simpson (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 25, it was announced by the NCAC.
Simpson, a post player on the Ohio Wesleyan men's basketball team, was named Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Simpson compiled 15 points and 10 rebounds to record his eighth double-double of the season as the Bishops opened the week with an 81-69 win over Oberlin on Wednesday. In Ohio Wesleyan's 82-76 win over Denison on Saturday, Simpson scored 19 points and led Bishops with 7 rebounds. On the week, he averaged 17.0 points and 8.5 rebounds as the Bishops moved to 16-1 on the season.
