Ohio Wesleyan University senior Ahmed Abdel Halim (Toledo/Ottawa Hills) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of March 28, it was announced by the NCAC.
Abdel Halim, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan men's track & field team, was named Men's Field Event Athlete of the Week.
Abdel Halim won 2 events and set a school record at the Cedarville Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open. Abdel Halim won the long jump and the triple jump. On his first triple jump of the day, he turned in a 47-9¾, which not only held up to win the event, but broke the school record of 47-7¼ set by Craig Neeley in 2000. In the long jump, he went 22-5¼ on his final jump of the day, extending his margin of victory in the event to nearly a foot and a half.
