Ohio Wesleyan University freshman Alyssa Acevedo (Medina) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of April 11, it was announced by the NCAC.
Acevedo, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan women's track & field team, was named Women's Field Event Performer of the Week.
Acevedo won the heptathlon competition at the All-Ohio combined events meet with a total of 3922 points. She had the meet's best showings in the long jump with a leap of 16-9¾, in the javelin with a throw of 108-10, in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of :16.41, and in the shot put with a throw of 30-11¾. She tied for first overall in the high jump by clearing 4-11, and was second overall in the 200-meter dash in :27.74, giving her 4 firsts, a tie for first place, and a second-place finish in the meet's first 6 events.
