Ohio Wesleyan University senior Ben Farynowski (Grandview Heights) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 19, it was announced by the NCAC.
Farynowski, a goalkeeper on the Ohio Wesleyan men's soccer team, was named Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
Farynowski recorded a pair of shutouts to help the 13th-ranked Bishop men's soccer team to an unbeaten week. He made 8 saves, including a kick save from short range late in the first half and a save in the final seconds of regulation time, during a 0-0 tie with ninth-ranked Ohio Northern on Wednesday. Farynowski then had 2 saves in a 1-0 win over Hanover on Saturday, including a save in the 84th minute that preserved the narrow Bishop lead.
