Ohio Wesleyan University junior Nate Newman (Chillicothe/Zane Trace) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of April 10, it was announced by the NCAC.
Newman, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan men's track & field team, was named Men's Field Event Athlete of the Week.
Newman won the decathlon competition at the All-Ohio combined events meet, finishing with 6436 points. He had the meet's best performances in the long jump (21-7½), shot put (38-9), high jump (6-5), 110-meter hurdles (:15.79), and discus (114-3), and the second-best efforts in the 100-meter dash (:11.66), pole vault (13-7¼), and javelin (136-9).
