(Ohio Wesleyan) felt like a second home and somewhere I saw myself being for the next four years...

Meet the Bishops:  Get to know a little about Cierra Joiner of the Ohio Wesleyan women's basketball team.

Name:  Cierra Joiner

Class year:  Sophomore

Major:  Business Administration: Marketing concentration

How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose Ohio Wesleyan because it felt like a second home and somewhere I saw myself being for the next four years. Also, I wanted to go to a smaller school and I got along well with the basketball team and the coaches.

How/Why did you choose your major?
I wanted to major in something that I could do more than one thing with. With a business major, you have so many options for different types of jobs. My plan is to go into real estate after I graduate.

Do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions?
I do not have any pre-game rituals or superstitions myself, but something the team does before each game is listen to our favorite songs to get hyped up and ready to play!

What are your strengths as an athlete (as an individual)?
As an individual one of my strengths would be that I am a hard worker and I am always striving to improve in everything I do. A strength as an athlete would be my athleticism and my ability to stay focused. I never really get too high or low emotionally.

What is your number one goal, personal or team, for this season?
I would say our team’s number one goal is to have a winning record this season and also to be one of the top teams in the NCAC.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Invisibility!

What is your favorite place to eat at in Delaware, and what is your go-to dish?
My favorite place to eat in Delaware is Victor’s Taco Shop. My go-to dish is a chicken chimichanga.

What is the beat piece of advice you've ever received?
The best piece of advice I’ve received would be that your thoughts become who you are and that only you can control your actions and how you respond.
