Meet the Bishops: Get to know a little about Paige Hale of the Ohio Wesleyan volleyball team.
Name: Paige Hale
Class Year: Junior
Majors: Biology and Zoology
Minor: Psychology
How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I was looking for a smaller school where I could focus on academics but still play volleyball. I felt really comfortable with Coach Cobb and she is very supportive of doing more than just volleyball and being involved with things outside of the gym. I also really liked the campus when I visited.
How/Why did you choose your majors?
I have always loved science and had an interest in medicine so I hope to go to PA (Physicians Assistant) school after I graduate.
What event/sport other than your own would you like to try?
I used to play softball in high school but I would have tried soccer if I did not play volleyball.
What athletic or academic achievement/accomplishment are you most proud of?
I received honorable mention (All-North Coast Athletic Conference recognition) my freshman year.
What did you do to put yourself in that position to achieve that goal/accomplishment?
I am a pretty competitive player and being new to my team and college volleyball, I tried to work hard and figure out my role on the team.
Is there a specific coach or teammate who has helped you get to where you are?
My assistant coach from high school, Taylor Otto. She was also my trainer in club volleyball for a year when I was 14 so I have known her for a long time. She’s always been extremely supportive of me not only as a player but a person and she helped me a ton through recruiting. She’s sent me letters to OWU and we still have contact with each other.
Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with?
Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Hart, Melissa McCarthy.
What is your ideal travel destination?
I really want to go to Switzerland or anywhere with mountains. I LOVE the mountains.
When you're having a bad day, what do you do to make yourself feel better?
I really like to paint because it completely takes my mind off of things.
What are your three favorite movies?
Hard question but some are Divergent and Jumanji (the newest). How to Train Your Dragon is my favorite kids movie.
