I know after college I want to work in the medical field to help others...

Name:  Chelsea Edington

Class Year:  2025

Major:  Health and human kinetics

How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose Ohio Wesleyan because it had the major I wanted to pursue along with giving me the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level in basketball.

How/why did you choose your major?
I know after college I want to work in the medical field to help others.  This major will allow me to get into further schooling or a job for my future career choice.

What is your number one goal, personal or team, for this season?
Our team goal for this season is to win the conference.

What event/sport other than your own would you like to try?
Tennis.  I have decent hand-eye coordination from basketball and other sports I was a part of growing up (softball, soccer, volleyball), so I feel like I could get the hang of it.

What athletic or academic achievement/accomplishment are you most proud of?
An athletic achievement I am most proud of is holding two records at my high school for most three-point field goals made in a season, along with tying for most threes in a single game.

What did you do to put yourself in position to achieve that (goal/accomplishment/etc)?
What helped me put myself in the position to achieve these goals was the practice I put in during the offseason and season.  I spend as much time in the gym as I can working on becoming a better player.  I would spend extra time after practice working on perfecting my shot and game, which led me to trusting my game and ended up leading me to achieving what I have so far in my career.

Is there a specific coach or teammate who has helped you get where you are?
I do not have a specific coach or teammate who has helped me get to where I am.  I would have to say my father has made an impact on where I am today.  During the summers growing up I spent time in the gym with my dad.  He would wake me up at six in the morning on Saturdays to go work out.  It was not the way I would want to spend my Saturday mornings, but looking back now I can see that it has contributed to the growth of my game.

Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with?
My mom, my grandpa, and my grandma.

What is your ideal travel destination?
My ideal travel destination would have to be Greece.

If you could visit another time, when would it be and why?
I would want to either go back to when my grandparents or my parents were growing up.  I think it would be interesting to be able to see what they experienced in their lifetime.
