Name:  Tony Carter

Class Year:  2024

Major:  Communication

How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose Ohio Wesleyan because I love the campus.  Attending OWU also gave me the opportunities to play collegiate sports and pursue my degree.

How/why did you choose your major?
My major is communication and I have a minor in journalism.  I love sports, that is what my daily life consists of.  Sports, sports, sports, and sports.  My dream job is to be a head writer for ESPN.  I would also enjoy being a sports broadcaster for football games.

Why did you choose to compete in sports at Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose to come to OWU to play basketball because it has such a rich history throughout the program.  You come to OWU not only to compete, but to win.

Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions?
I do not have a set-in-stone ritual, but I always go to Bishop Cafe about an hour before we report to Branch Rickey.

How/why did you choose your event/position?
I played a lot of different sports as a kid, but I was always better at basketball than any other sport.

Why do you like your event/position?
I love basketball because of my teammates.  At this point in my life, I spend more time with them than my family.  They are like an extended branch of my family.  It is always a great thing to see them succeed because when they succeed, I succeed.

What are your strengths as an athlete (as an individual)?
My strengths as an athlete is that I am very very long. I use my length as an advantage while playing.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Super strength because no one would come to the paint anymore, they would just get their shot rejected.

What is your favorite place to eat in Delaware, and what is your go-to dish there?
Victor's is the best spot in town!  My go-to dish would be the bacon, egg, cheese, and potato burrito.

Which reality show would you like to star on and why?
If I were to be a star on a reality TV show, it would be Chopped.  I still cannot cook very well, but I love food.
