Sophomore Matt Hunter (Lexington, Mass.) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 25, it was announced by the NCAC.
Hunter, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan men's track & field team, was named Field Event Performer of the Week.
Hunter won the heptathlon at the combined-events portion of the NCAC championship meet on Saturday and Sunday, compiling 4731 points. The all-conference citation was Hunter's second in a row in the heptathlon. He had the meet's best efforts in the 60-meter dash (:07.07) and the 60-meter hurdles (:08.34). He tied for second in the pole vault by clearing 12-11, his leap of 19-10¾ in the long jump was third overall, his effort of 5-8 in the high jump and his time of 2:57.02 in the 1000-meter run were good for fifth, and his throw of 34-2¼ in the shot put was sixth.
