WATERFORD, Conn. – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's cross country team hit the road for the weekend, leaving on a trip to Connecticut on Thursday to compete in the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday. The Battling Bishops finished 17th of 33 with a score of 490 in the loaded 6K championship race that featured 16 nationally-ranked teams.
Zoe Ward led the way for OWU, finishing 31st overall and setting another season-best time of 21:35.62.
Sophie Cotts was next at 108th, scoring 99 with a time of 22:49.10. Right behind Cotts was
Brianna Montgomery at 109th with a 22:47.52 for 100 on the scoreboard.
McKenna Downing and
Laura Wagner were the fourth and fifth finishers for the Red and Black. Downing notched a score of 123 at 133rd overall with a 23:00.89. Wagner rounded out the team score with a 137 after finishing 148th with a time of 23:15.10.
Hope Morris and
Ella Chomic were the next two for OWU, finishing 207th and and 210th respectively with times of 23:53.44 and 23:55.47.

The Bishops turn their focus to the NCAC Championship race on November 1st at 11 a.m., hosted by Kenyon in Gambier.
