POWELL, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's cross country team hosted their annual OWU Invitational meet on Friday night at Liberty Park, taking the title in the 12-team 6K race field with a score of 30 points, five ahead of Ohio Northern. The Bishops put four runners in the top eight, with the scorers finishing first, second, fourth, eighth, and 16th.
Zoe Ward and
Sophie Cotts led the pack with a one, two finish. Ward won the race with a time of 21:52.1. Cotts took second with a time of 22:19.2.
Brianna Montgomery finished fourth at 22:39.8, followed by
McKenna Downing in eighth at 23:07.6.
Laura Wagner rounded out the scorers for OWU in 16th place, scoring 15 points with a time of 23:34.6.
Hope Morris and
Ella Chomic were the next two for OWU. Morris finished 21st with a time of 23:50.8, while Chomic came in 23rd with a time of 23:55.7.
UP NEXT
The Bishops will be back on the course on Saturday, October 18th as they travel to Waterford, Connecticut to compete in the Connecticut College Invitational. The women's 6K race is set to start at 10 a.m.
