INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's golf team hit the course on Monday and Tuesday, competing in the 72-hole Wabash College Invitational hosted by Wabash at Broadmoor Country Club.
The Bishops finished 13th of 18 teams, shooting rounds of 306, 309, and 305 for a total of 920 strokes.
ROUND ONE
The Battling Bishops got out to a decent start on Monday with a 306 in round one.
OWU was led by
Ryan Ashby and
Gavin Stutz who shot 75 each.
Next up were
Nate Tripp and
Daniel Golin taking the other two spots on the team card, both with 78.
Callahan Lawler recorded an 80 for round one.
ROUND TWO
The Bishops slipped a bit in round two, adding three strokes for a team score of 309, bringing their 36-hole total to 615.
Again,
Ryan Ashby took the top spot as he dropped a stroke and turned in a 76, tallying 151 through the first 36 holes.
Gavin Stutz and
Callahan Lawler came next, both with rounds of 77. This left Stutz with a 36-hole total of 152 and Lawler with a 36-hole total of 157.
Nate Tripp took the final spot on the team card with a 79, leaving his 36-hole total also at 157.
Daniel Golin shot an 86 in round two, bringing his 36-hole total to 164.
ROUND THREE
The Red and Black wrapped up the tournament on Tuesday, turning in their lowest round score of their tournament at 305. This brought the Bishops' final tally to 920, putting them in 13th place.
Once again, it was
Ryan Ashby taking the top spot for the team, joined by
Callahan Lawler both shooting 75. Ashby would finish T-38th with a 72-hole total of 226. Lawler finished T-63rd with a 72-hole score of 232.
Nate Tripp posted a 76 for round three, finishing T-67th with a 72-hole total of 233.
The final spot on the team card for round three was taken by
Gavin Stutz with a 79. He ended T-57th with a 72-hole total of 231.
Daniel Golin shot an 80 in round three, finishing T-86th with a 72-hole total of 244.
