Miller Receives NCAC Athlete of the Week Honors

NCAC RELEASE

CLEVELAND, Ohio –
On Tuesday morning, the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) announced Ohio Wesleyan University junior forward Macy Miller as the NCAC Athlete of the Week for women's basketball. This is the second NCAC Athlete of the Week for Miller and women's basketball this season.

Miller had an outstanding week averaging 17.7 points, 15.0 rebounds, 3.7 steals, 2.3 blocks, and 2.0 assists while leading OWU to an undefeated week with wins against Washington & Jefferson 61-50, Allegheny 75-60, and Oberlin 80-61. With Miller leading the offense, the Bishops have now won 10-straight games and hold an 11-1 overall record.

Miller started the week strong during the Battling Bishops' annual Hoops for Hope event on Tuesday and Wednesday beginning with 15 points and 14 rebounds as well as five steals, three blocks, and one assist against Washington & Jefferson. She followed that up by tying her second-highest scoring output of the season against Allegheny with 20 points alongside 11 rebounds, four steals, four blocks, and four assists.

Miller's most spectacular performance however, came in Saturday's NCAC-opener against Oberlin. In that game, she pulled down a career-high 20 rebounds – the most in a single game by a Bishop since Katy Sturtz's 21 against Otterbein back on December 28th, 2000. Miller nearly had a 20-20 game, finishing just shy at 18 points with two steals and one assist as well.

Miller and the Red and Black will hit the road on Saturday as they head to Springfield to face Wittenberg. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.

Miller is the 10th NCAC Athlete of the Week honoree for Ohio Wesleyan this academic year.
