MEDINA, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's golf team started their spring season on Monday, competing at the Wooster Invitational hosted by Wooster at Fox Meadow Country Club. The Battling Bishops took third in the six-team field, shooting 21 over par with a total of 309 strokes. Sophomore
Callahan Lawler earned medalist honors with the best score of the tournament.
TEAM
Callahan Lawler led the Red and Black – and the 35-player tournament field – with a career-best two-under-par 70 to win his first career medalist honors.
Ryan Ashby was next, tying his career best with a 75 and finishing tied for fifth overall.
Nate Tripp turned in an 81 for the round and tied for 17th.
Daniel Golin nabbed an 83 on the day to round out the team score, finishing tied for 22nd.
Gavin Stutz scored a 90 and finished tied for 31st.
INDIVIDUALS
Jacob Spann put up a 76 as an individual competitor, tying for seventh overall.
Hunter Haynes scored an 81 as an individual, tying for 17th.

The Battling Bishops will take part in another Wooster-hosted event next Sunday and Monday, competing at the Nye Intercollegiate in Wooster at the Wooster Country Club.
