Ohio Wesleyan University senior Montana Knapp (San Diego, Calif./Patrick Henry) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 28, it was announced by the NCAC.
Knapp, a forward on the Ohio Wesleyan field hockey team, was named Field Hockey Player of the Week.
Knapp scored twice, including the game-winner during the second half, as Ohio Wesleyan rallied for a 3-2 NCAC win at Wooster on Wednesday. She scored late in the first half to wipe out a 1-0 deficit, and with the score tied at 2-2, Knapp tallied the game-winner with 12:59 left in regulation time.
In Ohio Wesleyan's 7-2 win at Oberlin on Saturday, Knapp recorded a hat trick, scoring all 3 goals during the second half -- including a pair of goals just 34 seconds apart -- as the Bishops pulled away for the win. On the week, she scored 5 goals to raise her team-leading total to 8 on the season.
