Ohio Wesleyan University senior Michael Blatchford (Shaker Heights) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of March 19, it was announced by the NCAC.
Blatchford, an outfielder on the Ohio Wesleyan baseball team, was named Baseball Player of the Week.
Blatchford hit safely in all 6 games during Ohio Wesleyan's spring-break trip to Florida last week. He went 3-for-4 against Susquehanna, tying the school record with 3 doubles. In a 10-2 win over SUNY-Canton, he went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI. He was 2-for-4 with 3 runs scored as the Bishops closed out the trip with a 7-1 win over Nichols. On the week, he went 12-for-22 (.545) with 5 doubles, 8 runs scored, 4 RBI, and 17 total bases for a slugging percentage of .773.
