DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's swimming and diving team opened up their season on Friday night with a meet against Heidelberg at the Meek Center. The Battling Bishops would come away with a 125-90 win over the Student Princes to start the season 1-0.
INDIVIDUALS
Zoie Buck took first place in the first event of her college career as she posted a 12:38.07 in the 1000 yard freestyle. She would go on to finish second in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:09.60.
August Lemert finished first in both the 200 yard and 500 yard freestyle events, posting times of 2:04.50 and 5:40.26.
MacKenzie Carter started her OWU career with a win in the 50 yard freestyle at 25.49. She also took first in the 100 yard backstroke after a time of 1:01.44.
Anna Lance secured a first place finish in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:24.95. She also finished second in the 100 yard butterfly at 1:05.75.
Maddie Hoyt took first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a 1:14.43.
Emilie Ott put up a score of 127.05 in one meter diving.
Lillian Borofsky took second in the 1000 yard freestyle at 13:32.37 and fourth in the 500 yard freestyle at 6:40.63.
Maria Thibodeaux finished second in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:31.18.
Avery Hudak finished third in the 100 yard butterfly with a 1:13.15 and fourth in the 100 yard breaststroke with a 1:21.73.
Ellie Cady came in second in the 100 yard backstroke at 1:07.45 and third in the 200 yard freestyle at 2:12.58.
Anna Haines had a third place finish in the 100 yard freestyle with a 59.70 and a fourth place finish in the 50 yard freestyle with a 27.33.
RELAYS
Ohio Wesleyan finished second and fourth in the 200 yard medley relay.
