Ammon Wins NCAC Midfielder of the Year; Five Named All-NCAC

NCAC RELEASE

CLEVELAND, Ohio –
On Monday afternoon, the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) revealed the major award winners and all-conference teams for the 2025 NCAC field hockey season. Ohio Wesleyan University junior midfielder Grace Ammon was named NCAC Midfielder of the Year alongside a first team All-NCAC selection. Joining Ammon on the first team were seniors Emma Wright and Alyssa Markell, with sophomores Mary Powers and Emma Reynolds earning second team selections.

This makes it back-to-back NCAC Midfielder of the Year awards for Ammon, and three major awards overall after she was named NCAC Newcomer of the Year in 2023. She is also now a three-time first team All-NCAC honoree, finishing second amongst the Bishops and fifth in the conference for scoring with eight goals on the year and three game-winners, adding four assists for a total of 20 points. Ammon was also named to the NCAC All-Tournament Team.

Wright's first team selection is her third overall All-NCAC honor and first to the first team. She started all 17 games for the Battling Bishops, finishing with the third-most goals on the team with six – including two game-winners – and adding five assists for a total of 17 points.

Markell's first team selection is her third straight first team All-NCAC honor after being selected in 2024 and 2023. She started 12 of her 13 appearances after returning from injury and made her mark as a defensive presence in the midfield. She also added two assists on the offensive end.

Powers' second team selection is her first All-NCAC honor. She led the Bishops and finished tied for third in the conference with 11 goals – including four game-winners – and added four assists for a team-leading total of 25 points.

Reynolds' second team selection is her first All-NCAC honor as well. She was a major difference-maker on the defensive end for the Red and Black, while also getting forward for one goal and two assists this season, finishing with four points.
