Lusk, Dortmund, Nathan, Elfers Set New 4x200 Program Record at Steemer Showcase

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's track & field team hit the road on Saturday to take part in the Steemer Showcase hosted by Wittenberg. The Battling Bishops finished third in the 21-team field with 78 points, 60 on the track and 18 in the field.

TRACK EVENTS
Kaylee Lusk, Katherine Dortmund, Alaina Nathan, and Kennedy Elfers got the day started in dramatic fashion with a new program record in the 4x200 meter relay, running a 1:42.80. Not only was this the fastest 4x200 time in OWU women's track history, it also beat the fastest time ever at the NCAC indoor conference championship meet – which coincidentally was also the previous program record of 1:44.42 set by Holly Fouch, Sierra Wright, Paige Springhetti, and Sara Johnson in 2014. The new top mark earned the Bishops 10 points in the team standings.

Zoe Ward and Brianna Montgomery added seven points in the mile run. Ward earned four for her fifth place finish at 5:03.43 while Montgomery got three for her sixth place finish at 5:04.59.

Dortmund secured her second victory of the day in the 60 meter hurdles, earning 10 points with a time of 8.86.

Lusk collected six points with a third place finish in the 400 meter dash at 59.38.

Kateri Hoy took two points after taking 10th in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:32.14.

Nathan and Dortmund were back at it with fourth and fifth place finishes in the 60 meter dash, separated by just seven one-hundredths of a second. Nathan earned five points with a 7.82. Dortmund earned four points with a 7.89.

Nathan again got points in the 200 meter dash, combining with Elfers for five. Elfers finished sixth, securing three points with a 26.02. Nathan took seventh for two points at 26.23.

Allison Dietz and Sophie Cotts took ninth and 10th in the 3000 meter run, separated by only one one-hundredth of a second. Dietz turned in a 10:31.76 for two points while Cotts turned in a 10:31.77 for one point.

The Bishops wrapped up the day on the track with a second place finish in the 4x400 meter relay. Elfers, Abrianna Hite, Lusk, and Layla Bauknect turned in a time of 4:06.83 for eight points.

FIELD EVENTS
Audrey Spooner and Claire Campbell combined for seven points in the triple jump. Spooner scored five with a fourth place finish, making a distance of 10.07 meters. Campbell came in eighth with a mark of 9.32 meters, scoring two.

Addie Beck collected three points with a 3.30 meter mark in the pole vault, tying for sixth place.
