LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Ohio Wesleyan University track & field teams sent five athletes to Veterans Memorial Stadium at Wisconsin-La Crosse to compete Thursday through Saturday at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Sophomore hurdler
Katherine Dortmund ran in the women's 100-meter hurdles in addition to joining fellow sophomores
Aelyn Baumbarger and
Kennedy Elfers, as well as freshman
Alaina Nathan, to run in the women's 4x100-meter relay. Junior jumper
Connor Smith competed in the men's high jump.
The Bishops had Thursday off as Friday saw all five for the Red and Black compete in prelims for their respective events. Baumbarger, Elfers, Dortmund, and Nathan turned in a 47.41 in the women's 4x100-meter relay, finishing 13th overall but failing to qualify for the final heat. Smith was unable to record a height after three unsuccessful attempts at the opening 1.98-meter bar in the men's high jump. Dortmund ended the day with a qualifying time in the women's 100-meter hurdles, finishing second in her heat with a 14.06 for the sixth-best time overall.
Dortmund dropped a quarter of a second in the women's 100-meter hurdles finals on Saturday, taking her time down to a 13.81 – just four one-hundredths off of her personal best and the program record of 13.77. She stayed put in the standings, finishing sixth in the nation and earning first-team All-American honors. It was a seven-spot improvement over a 13th place finish as a freshman last season.
