DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's track & field team hosted the OWU Tune-Up on Friday. The Battling Bishops welcomed Marietta, Otterbein, and Wilberforce to town for the event.
TRACK EVENTS
The Bishops dominated the one mile run, taking all of the top five spots.
Brianna Montgomery led the pack, finishing with a time of 5:04.81.
Zoe Ward followed close behind, clocking a 5:07.80 and placing second.
Ella Chomic was next, crossing the finish line with a time of 5:14.52.
Allison Dietz finished less than half a second behind Chomic, clocking a time of 5:14.90, good for fourth.
McKenna Downing rounded out the top five with a 5:15.29.
Katherine Dortmund continued her impressive season in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing first with a time of 8.72.
In the 60-meter dash,
Alaina Nathan took the top spot by a time of 7.84.
Kennedy Elfers finished second after clocking a time of 8.00.
Aelyn Baumbarger nabbed third with an 8.03.
Elsa Hoam and
Scarlett Loevenguth took the top two spots in the 800-meter run. Hoam secured first place with a time of 2:27.13, followed closely by Loevenguth, who took second in 2:28.60.
Multiple Bishops shined in the 200-meter dash. Elfers crossed first by a time of 26.12, while Nathan followed close behind and clocked a 26.67. Baumbarger took third with a 26.70.
Kaylee Lusk and Layla Bauknecht nabbed fourth and fifth with times of 26.74 and 27.25, respectively.
FIELD EVENTS
Stephanie Novak had a career day in the pole vault, as she vaulted a remarkable 3.70 meters to take first place.
Addie Beck claimed second with a vault of 3.40 meters.
In the long jump,
Niyah Shipman secured first place with a jump of 4.99 meters.
Audrey Spooner took third with a leap of 4.92 meters.
Claire Campbell jumped 4.84 meters, placing fourth.
Emily Davis finished first in the weight throw with a throw of 14.67 meters.
Emma Hall grabbed second after throwing 13.86 meters.
Jera Hoy rounded out the top three with a toss of 13.32 meters.
In the triple jump, Campbell recorded 9.51 meters, good for third place.
Hailey Harris claimed second in the high jump after jumping 1.50 meters.
In the shot put,
Alexis Eusey finished first with a throw of 10.95 meters. Hall took second with a toss of 10.61 meters, while Hoy grabbed third after throwing 9.77 meters.
