WOOSTER, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University track & field teams sent four athletes to Wooster over the weekend, competing in the NCAC Indoor Track & Field Combined-Event Championship. The Battling Bishops were represented by
Kateri Hoy and
Kali Kohler in the pentathlon on the women's side, and
Tanner Sir Louis and
Michael Hess in the heptathlon on the men's side.
Hoy took sixth amongst the women with 2484 points. She finished second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.79 and scored 752 points. In the field events, Hoy added 491 points in the high jump with a mark of 1.38 meters, 355 points in the shot put with a mark of 7.31 meters, and 469 points in the long jump with a mark of 4.25 meters. She finished off the weekend with 519 points in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:44.82.
Kohler finished seventh amongst the women with 2431 points. She started off with 609 points in the 60-meter with a time of 10.57. In the field events she added 460 points with a 1.35-meter mark in the highjump, 347 points with a 7.18-meter mark in the shot put, and 469 points with a 4.66-meter mark in the long jump. Finally, Kohler recorded 546 points in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:42.40.
Sir Louis secured seventh amongst the men, scoring 4053 points. On the track, he tallied 813 points with a 7.20 in the 60-meter dash, 568 points with a 9.86 in the 60-meter hurdles, and 523 points with a 3:15.21 in the 1000-meter run. In the field events, Sir Louis scored 610 points with a mark of 6.11 meters in the long jump, 525 points with a mark of 10.66 meters in the shot put, 411 points with a mark of 1.53 meters in the high jump, and finished off with a mark of 3.95 meters in the pole vault.
Hess closed out the OWU lineup in eighth place amongst the men. On the track, he nabbed 681 points at 7.60 in the 60-meter dash, 757 points at 8.95 in the 60-meter hurdles, and 673 points at 2:59.16 in the 1000-meter runs. In the field, Hess seized 521 points with a 5.69-meter mark in the long jump, 454 points with a 9.48-meter mark in the shot put, 552 points with a 1.71-meter mark in the high jump, and finally 298 points with a 2.75-meter mark in the pole vault.
