NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced its All-Region honorees for the 2026 Division III women's indoor track & field season. Nine Ohio Wesleyan University student-athletes earned Great Lakes All-Region recognition: Layla Bauknecht,
Kaylee Lusk,
Brianna Montgomery,
Kennedy Elfers,
McKenna Downing,
Zoe Ward,
Sophie Cotts,
Katherine Dortmund, and
Alaina Nathan.
Lusk, Montgomery, Downing, and Ward received all-region honors in the distance medley relay. The group turned in an Ohio Wesleyan-record 12:02.55 at the Wartburg Qualifier.
Bauknecht, Lusk, Montgomery, and Elfers received all-region honors in the 4x400-meter relay. The four recorded a time of 4:00.55 at the NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, marking the second-best 4x4 time in OWU history.
Montgomery added a third all-region recognition in the 800-meter run. She ran a 2:16.45 at the NCAC Championships, moving up to fifth on the OWU all-time top-10.
Ward won a second all-region honor in the 3000-meter run with a time 10:10.00 at the Jud Logan Open, moving up to fourth on the OWU all-time top-10.
Cotts secured her first career all-region honor in the 5000-meter run with a 17:43.86 at the NCAC Championships, moving up to second on the OWU all-time top-10.
Dortmund garnered her first career all-region recognitions in both the 60-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles, setting records in both events for the Red and Black with respective times of 7.72 and 8.62 at the NCAC Championships. She would go on to lower her 60-meter hurdles time to 8.55 at the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama with the same time in both prelims and finals, ultimately finishing third in the nation.
Alaina Nathan nabbed her first career all-region honor in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.77 at the NCAC Championships, moving up to second on the OWU all-time top-10.
The nine Bishops begin the outdoor season at the Washington & Lee Carnival this weekend.
