Siegenthaler Announced as USILA Third-Team All-American, Four Bishops Named Honorable Mentions

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced its Division III All-America teams on Wednesday afternoon. Ohio Wesleyan University senior midfielder Will Siegenthaler was announced as a third-team All-American, with junior attackers Wade Beckstrom and Henry Ross, senior defender Trey Weber, and senior faceoff specialist Noah Citek being named to the honorable mention list.

Siegenthaler's third-team selection is his first career All-American accolade, going along with a first-team All-NCAC selection this season. He finished the season third on the Bishops in goal contributions with 48 points on 27 goals and 21 assists, proving himself as an asset in the midfield with both facilitating and scoring skills. Siegenthaler also led the team with six man-up goals. On the defensive end, he caused two turnovers and picked up six ground balls.

Beckstrom's honorable mention is his third for USILA All-America, going along with a second-team All-NCAC selection this season. He ended the season as the Battling Bishops' leader in both points and goals with 77 and 51 respectively, also landing within the top four in the conference for both categories. Beckstrom dished out OWU's second-most assists with 26, alongside eight caused turnovers and 34 ground balls.

Ross' honorable mention is his third for USILA All-America, going along with his second-consecutive NCAC Offensive Player of the Year award and his third-straight first-team All-NCAC honor this season. He was the top assister for the Red and Black with 29, also finishing second on the team in both goals and points with 46 and 75 respectively, and landing within the top six in the conference in all three categories. Ross additionally led the Ohio Wesleyan offense in the hustle stats with 15 caused turnovers and 56 ground balls.

Weber's honorable mention is his first for USILA All-America, going along with the NCAC Defensive Player of the Year award and a first-team All-NCAC selection this season. He finished the season as the Bishops' leader in caused turnovers with 21 and was third in ground balls with 36. Weber also made a few plays on the offensive end with two long-pole goals and one assist for three points.

Citek's honorable mention is his first for USILA All-America, going along with the NCAC Specialist of the Year award and a first-team All-NCAC selection this season. He led the conference and set new Battling Bishops single-season records with 192 ground balls and 266 faceoff wins. Citek also got forward for five goals and one assist to finish with six points, as well as causing three turnovers.

The Red and Black collected their second-consecutive and conference-leading 23rd NCAC Championship this season with a 6-2 conference record before going on to win their fourth NCAC Tournament Championship with a 12-4 win at Oberlin – going back-to-back for the first time in program history and earning their 36th NCAA tournament appearance. The Bishops season unfortunately came to an end at 11-7 following a first round loss at home to Grove City, 14-9.
