Ohio Wesleyan to Host First Round of NCAA Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On Sunday night, the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Committee announced the 40 teams that would be filling the field for the 2026 NCAA DIII Men's Lacrosse Championship. Ohio Wesleyan University, having earned the automatic qualifier as NCAC Tournament champions, was announced as a first round host within the Lynchburg pod.

The Battling Bishops will welcome Presidents Athletic Conference champions Grove City to Selby Stadium for first round action on Wednesday at 4 p.m., with the winner heading to Virginia to compete in the second and third rounds hosted by Lynchburg.

The other two members of the five-team pod are York (Pa.) and Colorado College. York and Colorado will face off in the second round on Saturday at 3 p.m. following a noon matchup between Lynchburg and the winner of OWU and GCC. The winners of those two games will meet in the third round on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The Red and Black come into the tournament as back-to-back NCAC Tournament Champions at 11-6 overall, having defeated Oberlin 12-4 on the road this past Saturday for their fourth overall title. Ohio Wesleyan also secured a share of the NCAC Championship in the regular season with a 6-2 conference record – the Bishops' 23rd overall and second-consecutive.

This will be the second meeting between the Battling Bishops and the Wolverines this season. The two sides met in the season-opener in Pennsylvania on February 14th, with Grove City escaping 14-13 in overtime.
