WARREN, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's golf team took to the course for one final time in the 2025-26 season at the NCAC Championship this past weekend, competing Friday through Sunday at Avon Lakes Golf & Country Club. The Battling Bishops continuously improved throughout the weekend, shooting a 318 in round one, a 314 in round two, and dropping down to a 305 in round three to finish fifth in the eight-team field with a total of 937 strokes. John Carroll won the championship, shooting 898. Wittenberg was second at 902, followed by Kenyon in third at 904.
Ryan Ashby co-led the Bishops with a 78 in round one, followed by another team-low of 74 in round two, before finishing with a 77 in round three to tie for 11th overall at 229.
Nate Tripp started slow but found his stride by Sunday. His day one total fell off the team card at 86, however he dropped six strokes to 80 on Saturday, before dropping another 10 strokes to shoot a career-low two-under 70 on Sunday. Tripp tied for 23rd overall with a 236.
Gavin Stutz dropped a stroke per day, starting with an 80 in round one to take the third spot on the team scorecard. He ranked second on the Red and Black in round two with a 79, before ending his weekend with a 78 to total 237 and place 26th.
Callahan Lawler was the other team co-leader on the first day, also shooting a 78. He would be fourth on the team in rounds two and three with an 81 and an 80, finishing tied for 28th overall at 239 strokes.
Jacob Spann occupied the fourth and final spot in the team score on day one with an 82. His score would not be contributed to the Bishops' total for rounds two and three, shooting an 85 and an 88 to finish 40th with a total of 255.
