Philhower Named North Coast Athletic Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week for Week of Sept. 17
Ohio Wesleyan University freshman Gabe Philhower (Reynoldsburg) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 17, it was announced by the NCAC.
Philhower, a kicker on the Ohio Wesleyan football team, was named Football Offensive Player of the Week.
Philhower provided all of the Ohio Wesleyan scoring in the Bishops' 9-7 win over Wooster on Saturday. He set the tone by connecting on a 22-yard field goal to put Ohio Wesleyan on the scoreboard early in the first quarter, then drilled a 20-yard field goal on the final play of the first half to bring the Bishops within 7-6. With :18 left in the game, Philhower capped a 14-play, 74-yard drive by converting a 27-yard field goal to give Ohio Wesleyan the win.
