The men's and women's teams really are like a big family and the spring break trips are where we have bonded the most...

Meet the Bishops: Get to know a little about Meryl Reams of the Ohio Wesleyan women's tennis team.

Class Year: 2019

Major(s): Business administration

How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose Ohio Wesleyan because the campus was so cute and everyone seemed to love where they were!  The small-school environment was something I had always been drawn to.  My dad also went here so it was really cool being able to share that with him!

How/Why did you choose your major?
I chose business administration after taking Econ 110 and realizing it was easy for me and I really enjoyed it!  Business is also applicable to every career field so it's super versatile.  At first, I wanted to be a physical therapist but then I realized science classes just weren't for me.

Why did you choose to compete in sports at Ohio Wesleyan?
Sports are such a positive activity to be involved in!  I've been playing tennis since I was really young and have grown so much because I was an athlete.  Coming into college, I knew I wanted to continue that growth while also having a support group of amazing teammates.  I also really appreciated the balance between academics and sports.

What are your plans for after graduation?
I do not have any set plans but I know I want to move to a cool city and start a career in business. I am just really excited for what the future holds!

If you could visit another time, when would it be and why?
It would be the '70s. I have always loved the music and I feel like the way of life was really relaxed. The clothing is also super cute!

What is your favorite memory on an Ohio Wesleyan team?
My favorite memory from my time on the tennis team is spring break!  The men's and women's teams really are like a big family and the spring break trips are where we have bonded the most.  We are able to spend time playing our sport while also relaxing with our teammates.
