Meet the Bishops:  Get to know a little about Lucas Nathanson of the Ohio Wesleyan men's basketball team.

Name:  Lucas Nathanson

Class year:  Sophomore

Major:  Business Administration: Marketing Concentration

Minor:  Psychology

How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I was recruited to play basketball, and I had a great experience visiting here. My older sister went here as well, so I was familiar with OWU.

How/Why did you choose your major?
I took a marketing class my senior year of high school and found it really interesting and thought it could be something I’m good at. I am a pretty social guy, so marketing comes somewhat naturally.

Why did you choose to compete in sports at Ohio Wesleyan?
I wanted to play college basketball from a young age, and specifically to play for a competitive program. OWU is a nationally recognized program with a great history, and I was really excited to get a chance to be a part of that.

What is your favorite memory on an Ohio Wesleyan team?
Last year, my freshman year, we had our first regular season game at the University of Chicago and played a team from my home state, Massachusetts. We played really well and got a great win against a nationally ranked team, and overall was a really fun introduction to college basketball games.

What event/sport other than your own would you like to try?
I did high jump my junior year of high school and really enjoyed it, so I definitely would want to give that another try.

What are your plans after graduation?
I want to get a job in marketing or public relations in New York City or Boulder, Colorado. I also want to travel to a bunch of countries right after I graduate.

If you could visit another time, when would it be and why?
The 1970s seem really cool so I’d probably want to visit there. There was great music, great style, and lots of progress during the seventies.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?
If you are a genuinely good person, good things will come to you.

If you were told you only had one week left to live, what would be on your bucket list?
Get a group of my friends and family and visit seven countries in seven days. I would have to visit New Zealand and Hawai'i. I’d also have to see Frank Ocean in concert.
