...I could see myself thriving here academically, socially, and athletically.

Name:  Natalie Ryan

Class year:  2026

Major:  Exercise science

Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose OWU because of the welcoming environment here, both the campus and the people.  I could see myself thriving here academically, socially, and athletically.

Why did you choose your major?
I chose this major because it leads to many different career paths that I am interested in and can choose from later on in the future.

What is your favorite memory on an Ohio Wesleyan team?
My favorite memory on the soccer team was beating Hiram last year and securing a spot in the NCAC tournament for the first time in over 10 years.  We were so excited and it was such an awesome feeling that our hard work and effort had paid off in that one moment.

Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?
I have a lot of superstitions, but before games I always have GoGo squeez applesauce and I bottle flip my water bottle to the side of the goal before kickoff.

Why did you choose your position?
I originally chose goalkeeper when I was younger because I loved watching professional goalies make big saves in their games, I wanted to be just like them.  I also just fell in love with the role that the goalie plays in the game.

What event/sport other than your own would you like to try?
One sport that I would like to play other than soccer would be volleyball.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
The power to control time

Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with?
Taylor Swift, Briana Scurry, and Ryan Reynolds

What advice would you give to someone considering becoming a student-athlete?
It's going to be hard, but you have to embrace the difficulties that come with playing a sport in college.  Being a part of a team at the collegiate level is a privilege and it's so important to not lose sight of that.

What is your favorite book and why?
My favorite book is probably the first Harry Potter book. It was the first longer novel that I read as a kid and my mom and I bond over how much we love the series.
